Glenn Foster

Glenn does not really have an alter ego and prefers to always use his own name , he has DJ'd for 37 years and therefore played for many musical tastes , from Tamla Motown and Northern Soul , Punk , Reggae , New Wave , New Romantic and Boystown to Warehouse and Modern R + B.

He currently plays his roots as it was at many Northern Soul venues throughout the UK , and also delights our listeners with the Northern Soul sessions every Monday 9-00 till 12-00 , and the Mighty Dubcast 120 every Sunday 6-00 till 8-00 where you can hear the best in Reggae vibes , Dancehall , Lovers Rock , Roots and Dub , do not miss his occasional Warehouse and Old Old Skool Mix thrown in for good measure and also his very occasional " John Peel " Special, Glenn really caters for all tastes.

Glenn has many favourite producers one of his favourites of course being Frank Wilson who produced so many many Tamla Motown classics , if he was to pick more up to date producers he would always lean toward Oakenfold , his old friend Sasha and probably Tiesto.  As for actual artists there are far too many to mention but THE RAMONES and THE CLASH are definitely high among his favourites , among others would be MARY J BLIGE , FAITHLESS , GOMEZ , MORCHEEBA , THE ROLLING STONES ,MISSY ELLIOTT , THE VERVE, etc etc etc the list really would be endless, it is very well known Glenn favours Reggae music above all other and his favourite artists would be DON CARLOS , CULTURE , MISTY IN ROOTS , DENNIS BROWN , JAH SHAKA  and of course THE ROOTS RADICS BAND and THE MAD PROFESSOR.

Again if we were to look more towards the dance scene he would favour the likes of GROOVERIDER , SASHA , JON OF THE PLEASED WOMEN , CARL COX and many others who have worked long and hard .

As for the worst DJ experience , it would have to be when a DJ came on stage to follow him at an illegal warehouse in 1989 , the DJ tripped on the wires and blew all the main fuses , thankfully although it took over 10 mins to get the music back on , the 35,000 ravers in the warehouse banged their own beat on the sides of the warehouse and carried on dancin.

In Glenn's own words he has said that his best DJ experience kind of happened by accident really and claims it was the day he met Johnny DJFresh , and slowly became part of splashnetradio and also made a lifelong friend.

It is absolutely the most difficult question to pick an all time favourite tune , but high in Glenns favourites would be "Kiss My Love Goodbye"  by BETTYE SWANNE , "Eddie's My Name" by EDDIE HOLMAN , "I Feel So Bad" by JACKIE EDWARDS , " You Dont Love Me" by THE EPITOME OF SOUND , "Aint Too Proud To Beg" by DON CARLOS , "Sodom and Gomorra" by THE CONGOS , "Solidarity" by BLACK UHURU , "The Sea" by MORCHEEBA , "So Strong" by LABI SIFFRE ,"Outta Nowhere" by EVOLUTION , "Rubb It In" by FIERCE RULING DIVA , "I Know" by NEW ATLANTIC , "In Spirit" by DILEMNA , "Living In Darkness" by TOP BUZZ , "Let Me See Ya Move" by VISA , "The Grand National" by DJ Seduction , "Energy Flash by BELTRAM , "Mentasm" by BELTRAM , "Straight To Hell" by THE CLASH , "Teenage Kicks" by THE UNDERTONES  and the list would go on and on and on.

Glenn's only ambition is to play as much music of all tastes to as many people as possible to try and bring a little fun and happiness back into their lives.

As for his favourite equipment it would have to be ABLETON live , although taking some time to be convinced by the Digital Revolution Glenn has played with programmes such as Virtual DJ , Mixmeister  etc, but always still loves a bash at the old Vinyl.
